Role Summary:

Orana Engineering is seeking to fill the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer within our Chinchilla Office. This position reports to the Chinchilla Office Engineering Manager, is based in Chinchilla and provides the opportunity to complete onsite work at our client’s sites as required.

About You:

The successful applicant will have a passion for detailed engineering design and project management of multidisciplinary projects in the mining and heavy industrial sectors.  Orana Engineering prides itself on providing practical and sustainable solutions to our clients and previous experience in site based and/or engineering design roles and projects would be highly regarded.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) that is recognised and accepted by Engineers Australia.

The successful applicant's role will include:

• Promote safety and foster a safe culture on all facets of work to which Orana Engineering is engaged.
• Perform mechanical engineering design including pumping, piping and structural.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, regulations, and industry best practices (AS1170, AS1418, AS1657, AS2033, AS4041, AS4024, AS4100, ASME B31 and more).
• Use of engineering design software and tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Advance Steel, Plant 3D, SpaceGass, Pipe Flow Expert, AutoPIPE etc).  Similar software experience is welcomed.
• Perform engineering audits and reviews, and develop technical reports.
• Project management of various interdisciplinary projects including preparation and management of project correspondence, documents, budgets and estimates.
• Mentoring and guidance for junior engineering and design staff.
• Opportunities to perform onsite works through various parts of, or the entire project lifecycle.
• Communication and interaction with clients, vendors and company employees.
• Observing confidentiality requirements relevant to this position.
• Support and mentoring from other Senior and Principal Engineers (including RPEQ) and Management, working as part of a team towards continual improvement in the quality and level of engineering and services offered to our clients.
