MIA Services Audit

Orana Engineering was requested by the BMA Projects Department to assist in completing an audit of the ir, water and wastewater services at BMA Blackwater Mine in Central Queensland.  The audit was required in order to determine if the addition of new go-line infrastructure would adversely impact the existing mine industrial area services, and if additional infrastructure or infrastructure upgrades were required.

Orana Engineering completed a detailed inspection and data collection process over a 3 day site visit to gather information for the hydraulic audit.  During the site visit Orana Engineering was able to gather the required piping system and existing services demand data as well as complete red pen as built mark-ups to the site’s Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

Data collected from site was used to prepare a hydraulic model for each service.  The results of the hydraulic modelling along with findings and recommendations were included into a detailed summary report, outlining the capacity and utilisation of the existing services, with a view to understand the additional system capacity available for the proposed new buildings.

In addition to the analysis and reporting completed, Orana Engineering’s drawing revision services were utilised to formally revise the site’s P&IDs to be As Built incorporating the red pen mark-ups made during the site visit.

If you would like any more information or details about Orana Engineering’s engineering services or drawing revision capabilities, please do not hesitate to contact us or review our capabilities.
